英文單字|實用又能唬人的 GRE 單字
同一個意思,通常會有好幾種講法,使用高階的英文單字可以瞬間鎮住對方,也能讓我們聽起來更聰明、更專業。今天就來介紹幾個好用又厲害的 GRE 單字吧!(不過還是要視情況妥善運用,才不會變成討人厭的人唷!)
#1 Premeditated
Something that is planned or considered in advance, often implying a deliberate intention to carry out a specific action.
指的是事先計劃或考慮過的行為,通常暗示著有意識地執行某個特定行動。在法律語境中,它常用來描述事先經過深思熟慮並決定實施的行為,尤其指犯罪。
同樣都是計劃的意思,比起 Planned,Premeditated 是更縝密的說法。
Ex.
The prosecutor argued that the crime was premeditated, presenting evidence that the suspect had planned it weeks in advance.
檢察官認為這次的犯罪事件是有預謀的,並提供了嫌疑人提前幾周計劃的證據。
#2 Meandering
Something that follows a winding, indirect, or circuitous path. It can describe physical routes, such as rivers or roads, or more abstract concepts like conversations or thoughts.
遵循蜿蜒、間接或迂迴路徑的東西。 它可以描述物理路線,如河流或道路,或更抽象的概念,如對話或思想。
Ex.
The river was meandering through the valley, creating a series of gentle curves.
河流蜿蜒穿過山谷,形成綿延的曲線。
The professor's lecture was meandering, often drifting off-topic.
教授的授課東扯西扯,經常偏離主題。
#3 Antagonize
Cause someone to become hostile, angry, or unfriendly, often by provoking or irritating them. It involves actions or behavior that create opposition or resentment.
導致某人變得敵對、憤怒或不友好,通常是透過挑釁或激怒他們。 它涉及產生反對或怨恨的行動或行為。
Ex.
Her constant criticism began to antagonize her colleagues, creating a tense atmosphere in the office.
她不斷的批評樹立了同事間的對立,造成了辦公室裡緊張的氣氛。
